The Printagraph Granite City Rally

The beautiful stages of South Wales gave Keris Motorsport their best overall result of the year, 31st, and ensured that all that they require is a 3rd place in class in any of the two remaining rounds to win the class in the Mintex championship at the first attempt.

The fitting of a replacement gear box saw the car's handling improve considerably, but a slight problem with the selector made it somewhat difficult to select second gear, mainly when shifting down and caused a spin on almost every stages.

The day started well with good results on the first four stages, but uncertainty as to the last two stages arose when a leak developed on the water pump at service after the SS4. Having loaded the car with extra containers of water, the car consumed around 4 gallons of water, but did finish the event competitively.

Team Manager, John Peckham, said after the event:
"It would have been a great shame not to finish in view of the fact that for the first time we got the car handling right, but in any event we did finish and finish with a massive improvement on the previous round of the championship. The team has worked hard and replacement co-driver, Stefan Arndt performed very well. It was a great day. Special thanks have also got to go Jacky's cooking!"

The team is now preparing for the next round: The Hadrian in Kilder forest. The results: 31st overall, 3rd in class. Championship position: 4th in Group B - 1st in Class B11
