North Humberside Rally - 2008

A slightly shaken Uncle Dominic at service after his first experience in the North Yorkshire forests. All the shouting "Keep your foot in" and "Carry speed through the bend" seem to have worked with Dominic commenting that he had never realised that the little C2 Enduro could corner so quickly.

The suspension is fantastic with the car riding the bumps well - the car also feels very stable in the corners. However, a little more grunt is required to transform this car into a class winner - something that Dave at Ti Motorsport will be working on.

As it was Dominic and I were very please to finish 3rd in class / 73rd o/a on the first round of the BTRDA Rally First Championship.

The next event with Dominic is the Somerset Stages at the end of April - with Dominic promising even more commitment in the corners.

Lucas in Action

Congratulations to Lucas Hunt on completing his first rally in very challenging weather conditions - sun, snow, rain and sleet - we seemed to have it all on a 30minute cycle. The stages started to dry by the afternoon and Lucas started to gain confindence - maybe too much as on stage 6 we clipped a tyre and went for a bit of a tumble. A bit of sticky backed plastic and gaffer tape got the crew back out for the last two stages. Stage 7 proved a good confidence booster as Lucas settled back into driving after his inverted moment. Time ran out on the organisers as light began to fade and the last stage was cancelled. No bad thing as everytime we hit a bump I was showered in fine particles of glass. Results to follow.

2008 Season

Another rallying year is upon us -

This year should prove to be very exciting with the return of an old driver - Tony Simpson and two new drivers - Dominic Hodge & Lucas Hunt. All three drivers are being run by Ti Motorsport
I shall be co-driving for:

• Tony Simpson in the BRC Challenge (Citroen C2)
• Dominic Hodge in BTRDA Rally First (Citroen C2)
• Lucas Hunt in the 205 Challenge - 1400

A busy year for all involved - though 2 events have been dropped from the schedule so that I can attend my brother's stag do and wedding (rallying can't always come first).
